At Kurama Temple, overlooking the city of Kyoto--- now underwater due to global warming--- an old monk tells a young girl of a story that took place a thousand years ago. A Westerner once landed on the shores of Japan, his life saved by a local woman. After spending many happy hours with her, the Westerner fell in love with the woman. However, his love also bred mistrust, leading him to break an unwritten code. After the woman disappears from his life, he sets out on a journey to atone for what he has done. This is a tale of love and fantasy that transcends the barriers of space and time.

After the air conditioner breaks down, a family decides to use their deceased grandmother's electric fan. When the fan starts moving mysteriously, the father understands that his mother is trying to tell him something.

It is 1964 in a rural Korean village there is a 9 year old boy who really likes mandarin. One day his father brings home a new wife, but the boy misses his real mother, whom his father chased away. Conflict and peacemaking happen between the boy and his step-mom, and his step-mom decides to sacrifice herself for the boy who can't forget his mother.
